Dongfeng's Voyah started pre-sales for the Taishan X8 on April 22, 2026, and it got 20,000 orders within 20 hours. A report from CarNewsChina says that in the first 53 minutes the booking passed the figure of 15,000. It is a full-size sport utility vehicle with the length of 5.2 meters.
In the Chinese market, it is introduced as an EV with a price of 349,900 to 389,900 yuan and a PHEV with 302,900 to 369,900 yuan. Features a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3, with the 3,090 mm wheels, each occupant gets ample legroom.
The PHEV is equipped with a 1.5 L engine under the hood, whose power output is 110 KW. It comes with a double-motor setup, one at the front axle and the other at the rear, featuring an AWD drivetrain. Offered with two battery packs that are 44.5 kWh and 65 kWh, whose power output is 365 kW and 380 kW, respectively. The standard battery pack gives the CLTC range of 345 km and larger runs up to 370.
The EV comes with a double-motor setup whose combined power output is 365 KW. It is also available with two battery packs: the 80 kWh battery gives a CLTC range of 603 km, and the 120 kWh battery has a range of 727 km.
